Downtown adventure

It's spring break this week, and for an adventure, the kids and I took the WestCoast Express (commuter train - pic above) downtown yesterday morning. The view from the windows was lovely as we rode along the Burrard Inlet.
We wandered around a bit, had a light breakfast, then made our way to the Vancouver Art Gallery. With sketchbooks and pencils in hand, we explored the gallery and did some of our own drawings too. They currently have a great display on right now on "Trees". The 4th floor has an excellent exhibit on Emily Carr and the Group of Seven (but honestly, the kids were tired by that point, so we zoomed through).

The highlight was going to daddy's office to meet him for lunch. We met the Easter bunny in the elevator - which meant a handful of chocolates!
After lunch we walked down to Canada Place to watch the Imax movie "Whales and Dolphins". Although the 3D images were stunning, the $34 price for 3 tickets for a 40 minute film was hard to swallow. Save your money!
