Steve and Elisabeth's wedding

Yup... another wedding! This time my friend Elisabeth got married to her dream man, Steve. Elisabeth has been such a encourager in my life these past two years, and it was definitely God who brought the two together. Their wedding was fun and a wonderful celebration of faithfulness.
Our Lucy was honoured and excited to be Elisabeth's flowergirl... she felt like a princess! She also got to share a few special moments with the bride... like this one during the photo shoot.

I know my kids are still young, but being a part of these weddings these past few weeks really makes me think about Josh and Lucy's future weddings some day. I pray that they will make good choices in selecting their spouses. I remember being at my friends Tyler and Clare's wedding, and Tyler's parents standing up and explaining how they had been praying for Clare from the time Tyler was a baby. Even though they didn't know her, they trusted that God did, and asked Him to protect her and prepare her. I'd like to pray the same for my children.
And as for my choice of husband? I can't imagine a better choice for me... Mark and I were engaged 12 years ago this week, and I love him more than ever!

Anne and Stephen get Hitched

I know I've written a lot lately about Anne's wedding... but it has been a BIG celebration! The big event took place October 6th, Thanksgiving weekend. Although every day around this one was beautiful and sunny, their wedding day it rained and was a bit cold. Other than the weather, it was perfect! Here, the bride and groom posed with their honourary neices and nephews, her bridesmaid's children. The wedding took place at the Historic Brock House at Jericho Beach. Anne was radiant, and Stephen was emotional. It was lots of fun! I'm so glad that God brought these two into each other's lives at just the right time!

Anne's Bridal party at the spa

The night before Anne's big day, she invited the bridesmaids and baby of Honour, Lucas, to join her and her mom at Spa Eccotique for some pampering. We very much enjoyed getting our manicures (Anne and Barbara also had pedicures), and the time relaxing with charming company and yummy hors d'oeuvres. After the spa we went to our hotel downtown for the night. Now, I've always heard about Barbara and hotels, but it was great to experience it! Anne's mom had tablecloths, candles and flowers decorating her room, and a ton of food!
Cara Lee and I shared a room with Anne. The main decoration in our room was Anne's beautiful wedding dress hanging in the window!
I was so impressed with how Anne was so at peace and genuinely enjoyed each moment. It was a delight to attend her!

Anne and Stephen's Wedding rehearsal

Our dear friends Anne and Stephen got married October 6th. Their rehearsal took place a few nights before. Here's how I was confident that Anne really loves Stephen: she suggested they host the rehearsal dinner at Memphis Blues on Commercial... a haven for Carnivores. Anne doesn't like meat, at all. She does eat a bit of chicken, but that's it.
As you can see in this picture, Anne is holding the meat platter with the waiter, (really - all they serve is meat!) looking like she is trying hard to not be grossed out. Stephen in the background has both arms upraised in a pose of victory.
