Canucks fan

This video is dedicated to Uncle Blake, who claims to be a Ducks fan. We hope he sees the light, and converts his allegiance to the Canucks!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

Our dear friend Anne and our new friend Stephen Judd got engaged on Saturday night!!! Anne sent me this shot of them just after Stephen "popped the question" - at sunset on Burnaby Mountain. So wonderful! The Caldwells say "CONGRATULATIONS!" Stay tuned for the wedding date...

Go Canucks Go!

Guess who we're cheering for! Joshua talks about hockey ALL DAY, EVERY DAY! He's got all the scenarios worked out on the road to the Stanley Cup. Lucy is being swept into the playoff excitement too. Today's update: Vancouver just beat Dallas 2-1. Go team go!

The Bike Gang

I know I've written about bikes before, but during our visit in Prince George, the kids got to ride their bikes EVERY day. Tara lives on a flat, quiet street, which is pretty nice for the kids. Our own house is on a hill, and we need to walk our bikes up three houses to get to a flat enough spot for Josh & Lucy to start riding. Here's a little video of Josh & Lucy, and my nephews, Noah & Zach riding on their street, and along the Nechako River. Noah's bike (the green one with chopper-style handlebars) is called "Lil' Lightning". Whenever I called him lightning, he would reply "I prefer to be called 'The King'!" He's almost 6, and is confident of his identity!

Easter

Here's some shots of us on Easter Sunday. The first one is Lucy, Josh & Noah on the steps of Lakewood Alliance Church in Prince George. Zach didn't want to be in the picture (it wasn't his idea). I like the one of Lucy and Auntie Tara on her back deck.

Here's one of the 4 of us together! Can you believe how much our kids have grown?

The Wild West

I love the 4 day weekend we get each year at Easter. This year Mark took an extra 2 days off, we pulled Joshua & Lucy from their schools, and made the 9 hour trek north to the exotic locale of Prince George. Even at winter's end, our province is beautiful! We left the green of the Fraser Valley and drove through the Fraser Canyon (ask my kids how many times we say "THE MIGHTY FRASER!" as we travel over it) and into the Cariboo region, which looks like the wild west. By the time we get to Prince George, we are again amazed that this is only the middle of the province. Some day we will have to drive all the way to Alaska!

The weather was warm in Prince George, and after a Good Friday service, we took the kids bike riding along the Nechako River. Josh's favourite part of the trip was playing outside on a flat street with Noah: road hockey, basketball, soccer and more bike riding. Lucy loved playing with Zach, and giving Noah LOTS of hugs. "Lucy REALLY loves me!", Noah would exclaim.

The Easter Egg Hunt

We had a great Easter weekend in Prince George with my sister and brother-in-law, Tara and Dave, and our fun nephews, Noah and Zach. Noah is a few months younger than Josh (almost 6), and Zach is a few months older than Lucy (he's 4). The kids have a lot of fun when they're together.
It was a 9 hour drive north, but our kids travelled really well! There are more pictures to come of our long weekend.
