Weekend in Penticton

July 13, Mark's company took the whole family to Penticton Lakeside Resort for the weekend. It was a great start to our holidays! Mark golfed his best game ever, an 80!

The kids and I enjoyed the Saturday market and the beach. We rented a canoe for a nice paddle on Okanagan Lake. Mark's co-workers and families all met at the Heritage Inn in Naramata for a lovely supper. (I'm still thinking about the Creme Brulee!)

Before we left town, we enjoyed a float down the canal that joins Okanagan to Skaha Lake and a round of Mini-Golf. Mmm... wish we could have more weekends like this one!

Happy Birthday Lucy!

Lucy had her 4th birthday today. I can't believe our delightful daughter is already 4! Lucy is very fun to spend time with. She is very creative, and loves to make up stories. She spends lots of time in imaginative play with Joshua, as well as reading, drawing pictures and playing with her dolls. We often catch Lucy singing and dancing. She is very affectionate, and loves to give hugs and say "Hmmm.... I love you!" with a satisfied sigh.

We had a beautiful sunny day for her "Princess picnic" in the backyard with 7 of her friends and our family. Lucy and her friends had fun colouring pictures, playing a picnic game, making necklaces and having some time to just play around the treehouse. We dined on peanut butter and jam sandwiches, with fresh fruit and vegetables on the picnic blankets before indulging in chocolate cake.

Lucy would like to say thank you to Andrew, Britney, Emily, Jordan, Madeline, Sadie, Taylor and Joshua, Nana & Papa for making her birthday so much fun!

Happy Canada Day!

Lucy and I went to Castle Park for Canada Day celebrations this afternoon. Lucy had fun at the bouncy castles and slides, and we found Princess Dawn-Marie there who made Lucy a lovely balloon crown. The boys went to the FIFA U20 Football match on the pitch in Burnaby. No pictures - maybe they can take pics at the next match on Wednesday!
We're heading back to the park soon to watch the fireworks. God Bless Canada!

Graduation Sunday - June 24, 2007

Last Sunday Joshua moved out of the Lil' Kids church and graduated into KIDS church. He was very excited to be with the big kids, and start earning Bible Bucks. Now everytime Joshua sees Pastor Ingrid, he thinks she will give him one!

June 21 - Preschool Graduation

Lucy has finished her first year at Little Life Preschool. Because half of the children are moving on to kindergarten, it is called a Graduation. Here's some pictures of Lucy with her favourite friends, and her teachers, Mrs. Short and Mrs. Lott.

Kilometre Club

This little video will show you what Josh was up to this spring. He has been on the run since he was 11 months old, one of his favourite games for many years being "Chase me". Now that he's six years old, he's focussed his energy into running. He even won a silver medal for running 60.5 kms in 18 days. He's already setting goals for next year, hoping to achieve a gold medal in grade 1 if he runs more than 75 km. Keep running buddy!

Too much fun

I was just trying to get one simple shot of Joshua and Lucy together. But they both had a case of the sillies, and wouldn't stop horsing around. Oh well, I'm just glad they get along so well.

We've been enjoying lots of hot weather here, which is nice. We've been able to work in the garden and go bike-riding. And my little monkeys have had lots of time to play outside too!
